Merge PDF files

Combine several PDFs into one, in the order you choose. The PDFs are joined by Python running in your browser — they are never uploaded.

Choose your PDFs

Your PDFs are joined in your browser. They are never uploaded, and nothing is stored.

How it works: your PDFs are read in your browser, joined in the order you choose with their pages copied unchanged, and saved as one PDF on your device.
How it works: everything happens on your device.

How it works

Add your PDFs, put them in order with the arrows, and press Merge PDFs. The tool uses pypdf, a widely used open-source Python library for PDFs. It runs Pyodide — the Python language compiled to WebAssembly — so the work happens inside your browser tab. The first time, the browser downloads about 6 MB (Python and the libraries), which it then keeps in its cache, so later visits start in a second or two.

Each page is copied into the new PDF exactly as it is. Nothing is converted, printed or compressed again, so text stays selectable and searchable and images keep their quality. Bookmarks and internal links from each file are carried over too.

When it’s useful

  • A year of bank statements in one file for your accountant, a mortgage or loan application, or a visa application that asks for six or twelve months of statements.
  • An expense claim with its receipts: the claim form first, then each receipt.
  • Month-end paperwork: invoices, remittances and the reconciliation report as one PDF for the file.

Because nothing is uploaded, you can merge documents with account numbers and personal details without handing them to a website.

Password-protected PDFs

Many bank statements are protected with a password. When the tool finds one, it asks for that PDF’s password, opens it in your browser and adds its pages. The password is used only on your device and is forgotten when you close the tab. The merged PDF is not password-protected.

Good to know

  • Digital signatures on a signed PDF are no longer valid in the merged file, because the document has changed. Keep the original if the signature matters.
  • Fillable forms: if two PDFs have form fields with the same name, they may show the same value after merging.
  • Size: up to 50 PDFs and 200 MB together. On a phone with little memory, merge fewer files at a time.

Need only some pages? Split PDF extracts the pages you want first. Need the numbers from a statement? The PDF bank statement converter turns it into Excel or CSV.

Frequently asked questions

Is merging PDFs free?

Yes. There is no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on how often you use it. The site is supported by advertising.

Are my PDFs uploaded?

No. The PDFs are read and joined by Python running in your browser, and the merged file is saved straight to your device. Nothing is sent to our server or anyone else’s.

Does merging reduce the quality?

No. Pages are copied as they are: text stays selectable and images are not compressed again, so each page looks exactly as it did.

Can I merge password-protected PDFs?

Yes, if you know the password. The tool asks for it, opens the PDF in your browser and adds its pages. The merged PDF is not password-protected.

How many PDFs can I merge?

Up to 50 PDFs, 200 MB in total. Very large files depend on your device’s memory; on a phone, merge fewer at a time.

Are bookmarks kept?

Yes. Each PDF’s bookmarks (its outline) and links are carried into the merged file.
